1953 Moretti 750 Sport

This is a great shot of a Moretti. I like the shape of the quarter window and the rear glass window highlighted by the black paint. Great colour scheme.

Long time readers of CAR137.com will know I have a real soft spot for lightweight, and fast, low production cars. The Moretti is a perfect example. On the Loudpop site it said this was a 1955 but I'm fairly certain it is a 1953 that was one of 10 imported into the States.

Moretti's engine's were built inhouse and helped the cars to dominate the 750cc class. I featured another model recently here.

More pics here of this cool car || Photo from Loudpop.com.

  1. Take this little car one step further - put a 750cc diesel engine in it - better mileage, now hybridize it for better acceleration - more drivable, safer in traffic and more economical. Now make it plug-in, rechargeable - better mileage, cheaper fuel, more economical all around. now, build it form carbon fibers, plastics and other light weight materials so that rust is no longer a problem, weirght is reduced - better range higher top speed, better mileage. now, take the fat assed American driver to the gym, reduce his bulk to that of and average Asian, reduce his daily caloric intake, reduce his meat intake, feed him on veggies and rice, for starters - better mileage, higher top speed, longer range! Now, take the oils from the foods we saved in his diet and feed them to the diesel engine! - no foreign debt for oil in America - America restored to its original Glories! Volkswagen has this car on sale in Europe today! China nest to dieselize! Hybridize, go electric - USA left behind and beholden to the Arabs for oil bills. So sad the fate of the fat-assed indolent air conditioned American slobs, but it is written!! and Asians ans the Muslims are at the doors!
