1971 Dodge Challenger

The Dodge Challenger was/is a brute of a car. The gruntiest of them had a 425 bhp (316.9 kW) 426 cu in (7 L) Hemi. That's a lot of motor and a lot of fuel. Unfortunately the 70's fuel crisis ended production for this awesome car. There were almost 166,000 of them built over the four years (1970-1974) they were produced so they fetch pretty good prices if you have a good one.

In the flesh these are a big car

VW Beetle

One of my favourite cars ever is the VW Beetle. I searched for one that looked identical to my Aunty and Uncles. They won the Golden Kiwi in the 60's and brought themselves a brand new VW. White with a red interior.

I can remember the smell of the leather in that car because my Uncle used to do rub it down with a protectant. It smelt brand new all the time. Jumping in it was a real treat for me and I hope to have a mint one in the next few years.

1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria

I really like this car. It was built in a time when car design was really thought about and colours matched the Rockibillie girls dresses.

The image really does it justice. I can imagine cruising down a beach highway with my girl and a big grin on my face. Magic!

FB Holden

Another car from the Edley stable. The FB Holden we have once graced the showroom at Schofield's and is in completely original condition. Advertised as "Australia's own car" the FB/EK was the last car with fins and the first car with an automatic transmission (Love old car adverts).

I'm really looking forward to the day we can take it out of storage and start driving it again. Our one looks like this and is a Special. Very cool.

Toyota Corolla AE86

The AE86 is generally seen in this position at a Drifting Competition near you. Since it was developed this is one Toyota that has been raced in everything from Group N to Group A to Rallying and now to Drifting.

Powered by the venerable 4AGE, and with an almost perfect chassis set up, the rear wheel drive is a beautiful car to watch being thrashed to withon and inch of its life.

Great car. I haven't owned yet but I look forward to finding an original one thats been stored in a barn with low km's .... yeh right!

Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 SV “ Super Veloce”

I had to include this image because the Murcielago looks like it's plugged into some giant computer waiting to be launched into space.

This particular Murcielago will be one of 350 and NZ is going to get one. Talk to the guys at Independent Prestige if you're keen on having it in your garage.

What you will get is a 661bhp, 6.5ltr V12 that pushes the Murcielago from 0-62mph in 3.2sec!! Google it to get more very cool pics. Amazingly brutal, beautiful car.

Toyota Sports 800

Toyota's first production sports car, and the first to feature a Targa top, the Sports 800 was a show stopper. Little touches like the targa top, light weight build (lots of aluminium), an 800cc flat twin with 45HP (that propelled it to 160km/h), and fantastic styling, make this a highly sort after car. I really like the stying of early Toyota's and it's a shame they are generally a bit bland these days. If you can find one of these, buy it.
